Zoey
Zoey became part of our family in June of 2010. My Mother-in-law and I picked her out as an early birthday gift for my husband. She is now 3 years old and quite adept at causing trouble! She is spunky and playful and very affectionate. At 65 pounds she is quite sure that she belongs in our laps. She has about 12 bones in the house but won’t pay attention to any one of them for more than 5 minutes. She loves playing tug-of-war with Dad and gives Mom kisses.
Missy (6/1/06-6/23/11)
Missy joined us in Feb of ’07. Her previous family was moving into a smaller house and needed to find a new home for her. We took her in and she was a happy member of our family for nearly 5 years. Missy was very low-key, she’d get excited when we came home or when visitors came over, but most of the time she was very happy just to chill out, as long as she was near Mom or Dad. She loved having her ears rubbed. She had a stuffed football that she would suck on like a pacifier. Our joke was that she wasn’t put together quite right. Her jaw was a little crooked, her hips skewed to the right when she walked, she had bad knees, and problems with her eyes. She was a beautiful dog. In June of this year Missy got sick. It took us a while to properly diagnose her, but we eventually figured out she had lymphoma. She passed away on a Thursday evening. My husband and I miss her dearly but we are so glad we got to share 5 wonderful years with her.
